Becoming a Relationship Therapist
I have felt a passion for helping others and encouraging growth for as long as I can remember. After working extensively with families who have a child with a developmental disorder, I became enamored with assisting couples in creating a collaborative and caring relationship to foster an environment of abundance.
I believe that a secure relationship with yourself is essential in creating lasting and healthy relationships with others. I center my work around the belief that the human experience is truly fulfilled by the connections we have with both ourselves and the people in our lives. I care deeply about being a guiding hand to assist others in reaching goals and meeting the best version of themselves.
My philosophy is that all humans have been shaped by their experiences in life and the relationships they have had along the way; both good and bad. Regardless of our past, we are all capable of growth and deserve to flourish to our most fulfilled potential.
I believe that people are more than their diagnosis and aim my work towards my clients living a life of truth and authenticity. I will support you in whatever you are bringing into the therapy room and work with you towards the goals that you are ready to work on.
I feel passionate about meeting you “where you’re at” and being the gentle nudge to cheer you on to meet your most fulfilled self.
My Counseling Style and Strengths
My counseling style is non-judgmental, empathetic, and filled with collaboration. You are in charge of your own growth, but I will be a person to guide you when you feel lost or stuck. I aim towards creating a safe space that allows you to feel comfortable in exploring and processing your thoughts and experiences. I’m here to listen, cheer you on, and provide tools to create a more gratifying life.
Professional Counseling Background
Since 2015 I have worked in the mental health field providing care to families of youth with developmental disorders. I additionally spent time as a therapist working alongside youth and their families who were experiencing depression, anxiety suicidal ideation, or crisis. All of these experiences have allowed me to view individuals and families through different lenses and gave a deeper understanding on how to best support clients within a larger family system.
