Becoming a Relationship Therapist

After experiencing grief and loss at a young age, I was inspired to help others navigate their road to healing. Being a therapist affords me the opportunity to share my professional knowledge and empathize with people’s experiences on a personal level. I believe healthy relationships are vital to a meaningful life. I am passionate about helping clients build strong, genuine connections with themselves and their loved ones. I feel immensely grateful to walk alongside my clients on their path to positive transformation.

Counseling Philosophy

Although humans are wired for connection, relationships don't come with a manual. We all need a little help as we navigate life's inevitable ups and downs. I believe all my clients have innate strengths and resiliencies on which we can build to get closer to their goals. You are the expert in your relationships. I am here to provide you with the tools and guidance to unlock new opportunities for growth.

My Counseling Style and Strengths

I strive to create a warm, compassionate, non-judgmental environment. I approach counseling with a beginner's mind, meaning I do not have assumptions or expectations about my clients' unique experiences or perspectives. Instead, I collaborate with clients to find meaning in difficult moments and identify solutions to life’s challenges.

As a therapist, I am always optimistic about my clients’ futures, and I try to instill that same optimism in them as well. I use my experience as a yoga instructor to bring a calming presence to our sessions and incorporate mindfulness and meditation techniques into the therapeutic process.

Professional Counseling Background

I have experience working with individuals, couples, and families in outpatient settings. My work has focused on helping clients manage anxiety, depression, trauma, crisis issues, grief, and loss, among other concerns. I am passionate about working with couples who want to restore trust, build a stronger connection, foster greater intimacy, manage conflicts, improve communication, and prepare for future life transitions such as parenthood or marriage. As a certified grief educator, I am honored to support my clients as they navigate all types of grief and loss.
