Careers at The Relationship Place

Welcome! Thanks for your interest in joining our little corner of the world.

Our goals are aspirational

We want to change the face of Couples Therapy. We want to normalize the practice of going to couples therapy as a self-care tool for the care and feeding of a relationship. The old way of viewing therapy as a last-ditch effort for a troubled relationship is dated and creates an attitude of shame and failure. Starting out a relationship with tools for improving communication and connection builds a foundation of trust and hope during the rougher times. If you seek to develop and hone your craft as a Gottman Method therapist, training and working closely with a dedicated group of clinicians delivering leading-edge skills, custom-tailored to the needs of today’s highly stressed and challenged couples, The Relationship Place could be an ideal fit.

Clients excel in their work with therapists who approach their work with partners from a space of being open and judgment free. Our clinicians put aside their own bias and fears so they can show up in better ways to meet the needs of the couples who are in front of them. The Relationship Place utilizes the Gottman Method of Couples Therapy as the evidence-based approach to collaborating with partners to create healing, shared language, and awareness of patterns and behaviors that may not be serving the relationship.

We hire the best and the brightest clinicians who possess the value systems and ethics required to be committed and resolute advocates for their client’s well-being and relationship. Our clinicians seek to provide the most current perspectives on what modern relationships need to thrive and excel in keeping up to date on trends and needs of non-traditional patterns of connection. Leadership and ongoing one-on-one and group trainings are provided by celebrity Gottman therapist and trainer, author, and The D Spot podcast host Dr. Dana McNeil, who has been featured in 90 Day Fiancé, Oprah Magazine, Martha Stewart Living, and in numerous Gottman live trainings and webinars.

We are place of change, growth, and excellence in executing the art of couples’ therapy. We are also leaders in the community and beyond who aren’t afraid to challenge the status quo as to what defines a relationship, we strive to normalize the needs and goals of the people who we have been entrusted us with vulnerability and honesty about challenges they encounter. We never take for granted the gift we have been given by our clients to be a participant in their growth and development of setting new boundaries and healing old wounds.

We work as a team to change the face of couples’ therapy and introduce outside-of-the box thinking to the community and our clients.

We achieve our message by hiring non-judgmental, talented, and enthusiastic employees.

We are one of the few to specialize in couples’ therapy that is open, non-conforming, and progressive.

We are a niche within a niche, which utilizes the Gottman Method of Couples therapy theory and framework to provide evidence-based support.

Training

We provide four tiers of training and supervision including working directly with Dr. Dana McNeil, who is a Certified Gottman Method Couples Therapist. We provide our employees a robust training curriculum, ample opportunities to connect with mentors, participate in team consultations, and work on individual development.

We provide both associates and fully licensed clinicians a welcoming environment of learning and development. Associates will receive a minimum of 3 hours of supervision per week. Time spent with a clinical supervisor who will help address the needs and considerations of working toward licensure with the BBS. Case consultation, intervention training, work to conceptualize and embody what it takes to be a confident couple’s therapist, Gottman theory and evaluation of a couple using the sound relationship house, role playing, weekly team meetings, and book clubs are part of the structure and culture of learning at the practice.
